Happy Halloween~Night Visitors~Feeding Freenzy

Well, it s Halloween and I put all my Halloween "goodies" to rest until next year!  The month has flown by as life seems to do, but  am ready for this months "new" adventures!
I don't have any neat projects to share with you this morning as I need to get ready to leave on a "shopping" spree with a few of my favorite "girlies"!
But I do have to share Nellie and her pumpkin...there on 3 more behind her, I didn't realize she was so big!
Next photos are are from Thursday night of the deer eating what's left of my Burning Bush across the creek, it was just almost dark...and I took these from the inside of the house!

And last are my 4 inside kitties having a "treat"...and if you are wondering why the doormat is on the inside of the house, its their "scratching" post...they love it!

My Own Designs~Bird Cage Ornament & Snowflake Ornament

I am sooooooooo excited to share these designs with you......I designed these myself and I think they might need a little "tweaking", but just had to share them first!!  The first is a paper bird cage ornament...I found myself buying all these little birds to decorate for Fall and Christmas and just had to design a "paper" one.  Everything used is from Stampin' Up! with the exception of the bit of greenery in the cage.....the bird as well as the "banner" at the top are double sided, so whichever way it hangs if will look great!  I was thinking  of adding a ribbon bow at the top...not sure yet.....I have other plans for these...paper trees in  the cage, maybe a snowflake hanging inside.....I'll try to get some of those done for tomorrow.
The second ornament is my snowflake...I have to make more of these with some "glitter"......well...let me know what you think.....I am doing a small show with paper and some sewn items in a few weeks...these will debut there!

Baby Girlie Card and a Be Careful Warning!

Another "wet" and cool day in Michiana...so many leaves to "pick" up and they are soaked!  Still need to get a "good" day to clean out and mulch the gardens........still looking for "Mr. Sun"!
I have a baby girl shower to go to Monday night......and saw on SCS where the limited supplies challenge was to make a "girlie" card...so thought I might as well make my girlie card a baby card since I needed one anyhow.........BUT....the limited supplies challenge was to not use any designer paper...well heck...so much for that...I need to "listen" better! Edited to add:  I added 3 pink crystals to the bottom of the tag sentiment...made a big difference..and I know its hard to tell, but under the ribbon is a nice piece of ds paper I used a SU punch for the scallops.....
Yesterday I was on one of my favorite blogs and was cruising around with "links"...NOT Mr Linky, but another one and when I clicked onto a blog I couldn't get out and my virus protection came on and told me the blog was a "Trojan Virus" and they had blocked it...thank goodness for that.........come to find out, it was a virus someone had linked into the blog from a foreign country (I won't mention which one as I don't want to accuse or offend anyone).............but just  BE CAREFUL when you are "cruising" around...I am sure some don't have a protection that would block it...........it's beyond me why these people have to be so evil!

Circle Circus Trio

Hard to believe that "Halloween" is almost on its way out...the leaves are almost all down...and where is that sun?  The seasons seem to change so fast...so very hard to believe that we need to be thinking of Christmas already.
I put together a trio of cards using Stampin'Up's Circle Circus......plus a few other sets combined to make these 3 cards.

All cards were made using SU Whisper White, Real Red, and Old Olive cardstock and inks.

Haunted House and A Pumpkin Gourd!

Our nice weather is leaving us...but it can be expected this time of year....am thankful for the nice days we did have!  With weather changes I get migranes.....I think I might be glad when it quits going up and down so my head can "relax".
Today I have a "haunted house" to share with you.  I used an embossing folder and cut part of the house out, I wanted to show the "background" trees a bit more.......the house was embossed on core paper and sanded......the moon, witch, black cats and pumpkin are all punches.....for some bling I used glitter paper, a jewel and yellow stickles in the windows....this is a "monster" sized card (no pun intended) and barely fit on half of a 12 x 12 piece of designer paper....all because of those background trees....I added pumpkin pie cardstock on the inside for stability ....I stamped a bat and another sentiment on the inside...thats about it.....except I entered it in the Saturday Spotlight With Hidden Potential at Stamped Smiles.....it was to create a scene!

This is my "pumpkin gourd I bought a few weeks ago at a craft show.....I buy one a year from the same artist, but this is the first year she had some that lit up.....I love it.....just have to be careful when packing it up for the season.....til tomorrow.

Vintage Santa and A PeeGee Hydrangea

Another beautiful morning.....we had a light rain last night.....never even heard it...but it sure "cleanzed" the air...it's to be 70 today, looks like another afternoon I can work in my gardens....I love the fall, I am sure "going to miss it" when it leaves us soon.
Today I have the neatest vintage santa to share...I just bought this stamp yesterday for only $4.39...can you believe that?  Our wonderful scrapbook store is closing their doors and they hope to be gone by the end of November, but each day they are still receiving new items...this stamp was one of them (sorry I can't mention the name)..I am so upset by this, as they carried everything, and I went at least once a week...I know most of it can be ordered online, but I love to browse and "feel" the items in my hand.
Whoops...guess I got side-tracked!  I inked this santa in Stampin'Up's Riding Hood Red...you can see I did some sewing around the card...I just love the look of sewing on a card....I found a piece of a vintage satin ribbon that was the perfect color....the holly, I cut out with a die on some foil paper, they were popped up for a 3d effect and I "bent" the edges up a bit......cardstock used was all SU...Garden Green~Very Vanilla...I also stamped the inside of my card and inked the edges a bit.

Stampin'Up! has a wonderful vintage Santa stamp set as well, its called Good Cheer...I would be happy to order it for "you"!  :<)

I wanted to share my beautiful PeeGee Hydrangea with you...it is HUGE...I have 3 of these, but this one is the biggest...it starts blooming creamy white in August, towards the end of the month it takes on a sage green and pink color.......stunning...and its still going strong!  See you tomorrow!!

Turkey Talk

A beautiful morning here.....sun is trying to poke out.....air is crisp and clean...looks like a good day to start to winterize my garden...they are predicting temps of 62 today and 70 tomorrow...sure hope so.......I have a "turkey and maple leaf" card to share with you today.  I saw this "idea" on another blog...basically you just find a leaf, slightly adhere it to your cardstock (I used watercolor paper as I found the cardstock liked to "curl"), and spray with a spray mist...I used Tattered Angels gold, coffee, and green.  My small maple leaves were cut with a die from another project that I didn't quite care for (I never throw anything away).......

I also had to share my "Burning Bush" with you...mine is just starting to "turn"...but the ones closer to town are in full color, and I have to tell you, they are stunning!  I love this bush as for some reason in the middle of winter the cardinals love to "hang out" in it....another beautiful site with all the snow and the red birdies!!!  That's it for today...have a good one!!

Card RecipeCardstock:  SU Dusty Durango, water color paper; Ink:  SU markers, Old Olive ink;  Stamp:  SU Gifts of the Earth;  Accessories:  Ribbon, Spray Mist, die, maple leaf

Happy Sunday!!!

I must be in the Christmas mood...yesterday we went to a small town in Indiana for a Christmas open house...yes really...its the neatest place and its loaded with "stuff".....I must be doing the "bird" theme this year, as I bought 4 birds...one is a gift...3 are mine....I will have to post pictures of those birdies at a later date!
I was so inspired I decided to make a few holiday cards.....the first one I actually based everything on from the background paper...love the colors...love the design...and love that "yummy" ribbon!  I am really getting into finishing the insides of my cards as well......the inks I used are SU Old Olive and Chocolate Chip, I paper pieced some of the house and added gold glitter to the door frame, hinges and the bell in the steeple...you can always click on the pic for a better view.....

The second card is all Stampin'Up" with the exception of the "epoxy sticker"...I couldn't help myself I just love those epoxy stickers and had to get it on this card somewhere...oh I did use some "stickles" too for a little "bling"!  I got the jumping off point  for this card  from the new Papercrafts Holiday Cards magazine.
Speaking of the "bling"...I stacked one card on the other...and you guessed it...my white card now has red stickles on the back...so am adding a nice piece of pink cardstock to "fix" it up...geez, when will I learn!!

Recipe for the "circles" card:
Stampin'Up!  Cardstock:  Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla; Designer Paper:  Christmas Cocoa Specialty;   Stamp Sets:  Circle Circus, Four The Holidays;  Accessories:  Sleigh Bells Ribbon, Button Playground Old Olive, Silver Elastic Cord.......other:  Stickles, epoxy sticker

A Season That Sparkles Challenge

Well here I am again doing yet another challenge......one that "sparkles"!  I love~love all these vintage look ornaments I have been seeing on the blogs.....I bought this ornament punch from Stampin'Up! and a stamp set to match and have been punching my little heart out!  Did you notice the BIG ornament in the back of my card.....it reminds me so much of the clear ornaments we had as kids.....I used some embossed vellum to cut out with my circle cutter.....I have had this vellum for years and years....can't believe it is still so pretty!  Along the edge of the card I have some "sparkley" ribbon......one of my favorites to use for the Christmas season,,,,the sentiment I made "banner" like with a couple of glitter sparkle brads...this card just has "sparkle" everywhere!!!  Click on the photo to see ALL the "sparkle"!!

Think Spring~Don't I Wish!

Sorry I have been away so long.....had a "bout" with the flu...and Tuesday was my birthday...not fair to be sick on my birthday...but am better now.
I had this card made a week or so ago using my SU level 2 Hostess set "Wings of Friendship".....anything with a bird on it and I have to have it! I used my SU Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry along with Very Vanilla for this one.  The flowers are "popped" with dimentionals....

Fast~Fun~And Totally Stampin'Up!

One of the workshops I did a week ago, the hostess asked me to do a scrapbook layout.  I usually don't do the layouts, as for one when I scrapbook a page it usually takes no less then 3 hours per page!  Also I find it hard to do a page that everyone can "relate" to.  But what the heck, I thought I would give it a try....I told them each to bring 5 or 6 fall  photo's so they could have a good choice of which ones they wanted to use!  I have to admit, it was a GREAT success and they raved about the page.    One of the "ideas" I wanted to show, was how well stamps work on a scrapbook page....I think stamps add so much to a page, and the selection is endless!    All the leaves we added were "popped" up with dimensionals.  I also have to admit  that I sold alot of what we used, which always makes me feel good, too!  I left a place for journaling, of which I still need to add mine.......these photos are two of my granddaughters, but guess what?  They are now 17 and 15...yikes how time flies!
Recipe is as follows"
Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Old Olive
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Old Olive
DS Paper:  Autumn Traditions
Stamps:  A Season of Friendship
Other:  Spiral Punch, Sizzix Leaves #2 Die

Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

I have been gone all day and thought I would check out the Friends With Flair Friday blog hop..and was I surprised to see MY name in the list...whoops...an error on MY part....so I very hurriedly (is that a word?) put this card together with the June KOM.  This is not at all what I had intended to do with this card...but in a pinch what's a girl gonna do??  I sponged the background with a few different SU inks and then stamped the image in Versamark and embossed it.....the bow is much more of a soft, sparkley, sheer pink (my camera doesn't like sheer)......a bit vintage..............sorry I'm "late"...its my life style!!  Have a nice weekend...it's raining here...has been all week!

I saw these and just had to share...so fun and unique...enjoy!

Sound of Music Flash Mob

Don't forget to check out my "inchies" below this post!

Fun~Fun~Fun!!! Halloween and Christmas Inchies!

I LOVE making "inchies", it is so addicting I could make dozens...and what a terrific way to use up smalll scraps!  My first card is of course Halloween...so fun and look at all those "little do-dads"!  Every little square has been stamped!
My second card I went with reds and whites for Christmas.....I love the "sparkly-frosty" ribbon I added...it was just a tiny scrap piece used up...yeah!

I used all SU cardstock and various little stamps I had to complete these...check out that little "eyeball" on the Halloween card.....so funny!  I think I have to do a few more of these to appease my "inchie addiction"!
I have been seeing on several blogs that the designers are decorating the insides of the cards, too...so I am now trying to do the same...so what do you think??

Birthday Card and a Masculine Card

Today is my daughters birthday...she has a taco bell dog named Charlie so I purchased this digital image online...perfect for her!  I added a little "tag" to his collar......again I used up more of my scraps.....inside I stamped "happy day".....I think she'll like it!  I can't tell you how old she is, as I am sure I can't be old enough to have a daughter her age...LOL!

The second card is one I started on in my "no sleep" mode at 4:30 this morning.  Its hard for me to do a masculine card as I am always adding "bling" and "bows"!  I tore a piece of paper bag and stamped SU's Noble Deer on it.....I thought if I added a "woodsie-country" checked ribbon it would still keep within the "man theme"...I know, simple, but I still like it.........nice to have a few of these on hand for the "boys" in my life!

From The Hands of A Three Year Old!

I had one of my little granddaughters for the day yesterday and since her "Mommy's" birthday is Friday, we decided to make her a card.  Now I have to tell you she did all the stamping, adhering, and picking out the paper and ribbon herself.  I picked out the stamp as they have a little "taco bell" puppy and thought this was the perfect stamp!  She picked her ribbon first out of tons, so that is why she choose the pink and red.....the sentiment is upside down, she insisted on putting it on "her way", heck its her card to make so I let her...the inside sentiment "smile" she choose herself, which is funny as her Mom bought me that stamp many years ago!  She only got a little red ink on her fingers...she did pretty well...what do you think...think I might have a "stamper" in the making????
The Finished project!
