"Totally" Mad For Tea

Happy "almost" New Year!!!!

This morning "early" I happened to see a very fun challenge at Simon Says
to create something for a "mad tea party"
sounds like fun??? I think so....

for my "tea party"...I made a tea box......it stores lots and lots of tea packets....
I had some Graphic 45 Halloween Alice In wonderland paper
and made it work for me....

I colored in the mad hatters hat and covered the Halloween piece with some hearts...
creative...eh???

The box lid fits down inside the box, so to keep it from slipping inside
and to make a "handle" of sorts, I made a mad hatters hat.....
it took me a few hours to complete, but was well worth it......
here is the challenge at Simon Says if you want to join in!!!!

The cardstock I used was Stampin Up and the DS paper is My Minds Eye
the box top and bottom is a Spellbinders die

Frosted Designs 12 Days of Christmas Finished

These are my last six cards for the 12 Days of Christmas challenge at Frosted Designs

I have had this cute little "jungle set" for a few years
and have never inked it...the sentiment is popped up as well as the flower!!

I have to admit out of all 12, this one had me for awhile...lol
I ended up cutting a star die out of a paper that has a white
shiney stuff on it that you can mist or use inks...
I can;t for the life of me think of the name of it...
but I used 3 different products on those stars....
TH Distress Stain Spun Sugar~Adirondack paint dabber Raspberry
and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Gold....

I used 4 different scrap papers for my flower...

I decided to make a smaller and super fast card with 5 gold hearts...

I have just started "collecting" washi tapes...so this was fun...

i might be hard to tell unless you click on the picture
but the paper has green glitter on it

that's it for the 12 days...I want to thank "Pink Designs" for a fun time!!!

I am participating in the 12 Days of Christmas challenges
at "Frosted Designs"
On this post I am showing 3 of my cards I have done
and you can go to the post below to see "Day One"....

these challenges are great, as I get to use up some of my
well "overstocked" products...
I made this cute little wreath card with 12 flowers with 12 brads in the center...

I love how this card folds over at the top and is tied with twine...

isn't it cute with all those pretty circles and buttons??

That's it until I get the others done...
I had better hurry, as the challenge ends soon!!

Think Spring

It was hard to put all my wonderful Christmas stamps and dies away....
I actually finished my Christmas cards the day before Christmas Eve....
I have put them away for next year.....

To start the "after Christmas" void I think we all feel
I decided to do a somewhat "Spring" card.....

I saw a challenge on the "Glitz" blog and actually had to run to Hobbylobby
Christmas Eve morning to purchase some "Glitz" paper for the challenge!!

I used a couple of TH Alterations dies for the background paper
and for the flowers.....
the doily is a "Cheery Lynn" die French Pastry...

this is being entered in the following challenges"

Queen For A Day

I have a few things I wanted to share with you today....
different then my normal "things"

First is this wonderful crown.....
made with aqua paper and stitched  onto felt...
a bottle cap silver glittered "D" sits in the center

Second are some bird "jars" I made....
I did about ten of these in various colors....
wish the darn pictures were better....

in the jars I added snow, some pearls, etc....
I added rub ons on the outside of the jars...
one is "The magic of Christmas", the other is "Christmas"
I made the nests of various greens, torn vintage music books, etc....
the birds and glass were purchased at Michael's....
the glass is just $1...amazing what you can do with a $1 project!!

I am entering these projects in the challenge at the Shabby Tea Room
"Shabby Chic Holiday".....

Here it is the day before Christmas Eve and I haven't baked even one
Christmas cookie...but I am so trying to loose weight, so haven't
given into the temptation...yet.....

Ice Cream Cone ~ Lots of Layers Challenge

This week at the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog it's "Lots of Layers"

Well, I gotta tell ya...this cone has about 20 layers of snowflakes on it!!

I got the idea while cleaning my creative room and came across a sample
ice cream cone I had cut from my Cricut for a birthday card I had made
earlier in the month for a granddaughter....
the cone swings open at the top at the "cherry"....

The cone itself is made with a Cheery Lynn die "French Pastry" doily.....
I cut about 20 Cheery Lynn Snow Flowers set 1 and glittered them
with 2 colors of glitter from Making Memories

I think this will make a "sweet" card for Valentines Day......
Also entering this in the In The Pink challenge......"Pink and Pearly"
and at
Frosted Designs 12 days of Christmas Day 9.....9 pearls or Sparkles!!!

Flourishes Challenge Hop

To kick off Flourishes new release they are having a "Challenge Hop"
there are 8 stops along the way and each has an element to add...
one of the "funnest" hops I have done!!

I won't list the eight as, you still have til 5pm tonight to do the challenge
and hop along....
However, I will say that one is a rounded corner or scallop edge or similar
I stamped my Flourishes Birthday Banners and turned them into trees...
that is where my "rounded~scalloped" edges come in...when I cut them out!

A second one was to add a tag....for my tag, I cut a "strip" to stamp the sentiment on...
okay, no more telling for me...lol....

I am having my family Christmas party here on Sunday and have tons to do
and here I am in my creative, very messy room, but its so hard to stay away
hopefully, after Sunday I can do some of my favorite challenges again!!

City Crafters Challenge Blog Guest Designer Week 139

This week I have the pleasure of being a guest designer at City Crafters Challenge Blog...
We had the lovely inspiration photo shown to work with....

For my creation I made a Snowman shaker jar and matching tag.....

the jar was purchased at Michaels for a mere $1......
I added a bit of fake snow and pearls, and a rub on for the front of the jar...
I used a styrofoam ball and covered it with snowtex and while wet added glitter,
bead eyes and mouth and a clay handmade nose (you should of seen the pan of noses baking)..lol
I made her hat with vintage sheet music and a vintage type tinsel trim
I added a ruffled paper collar and glitter ribbon for the scarf with a jingle bell

It was very easy to create, just had to wait for the snowtex to dry...
My tag was easy peasy using a circle cutter, snowflake embossing folder and
more of the ruffled paper....

I hope you like my creations and be sure to visit the City Crafters challenge blog
to see all the lovely work the design team has created, my guest design post...
and be sure to enter the challenge.....!!

she made a super cute tag...

but can you believe I had to make 4, yes 4 before I got one I didn't do something stupid to!!
But, it turned out okay in the end.....
I used my Memories Unicorn white ink and JustRite background stamp
on my TH Alterations tag I made out of kraft cardstock....
and I got to use some of my washi tape I have been building up a supply of....

have to "run"...
lots  of wrapping to do and still need to finish decorating not only the tree
but the rest of the house!!

Tag 9 ~ 12 Tags of Christmas With a Feminine Twist

Today I am sharing my somewhat "gaudy" (lol) tag for Ellen Hutson's
Tag 9's host is Paula Cheney...oh my her tag is "gorgeous"!!

I had to improvise for my sentiment and actually thought it was quite "creative"
I used a part of a foil Christmas tag.....

Also wanted to share my "half" decorated tree..
.I have been working on it since a week ago Sunday...and it is still not done!!
It is done in red and white lights...and all red~white~teal decorations...

Day 8 ~ 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

Wow...hard to believe it is already Day 8 with Ellen Hutson's

Todays host is Kelly Alvarez.....
this is my take on the challenge.....
I cut my tag with a TH die out of watercolor paper, it made a nice sturdy tag!
the image is stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white EB powder
then colored in with TH Distressed markers that were "painted" on with a
paint brush and a bit of water for a watercolor effect......
well, gotta run...our family Christmas is next Sunday and I way behind...yikes!!

Vintage Santa

I love this vintage Santa from a Crafty Secrets Journal pad.....

I know it's hard to tell, but I have almost everything popped up. even the DS paper
I used Ranger Glue & Seal, watered it down a bit and painted it onto Santa's beard
then sprinkled on some very fine glitter....I think it just adds so much!!
the little snowflake is layered and glittered as well, the die is a Cheery Lynn designs

One of the things I love about these images
is that you can make a somewhat quick but gorgeous card!!

I am entering this in the Crafty Secrets challenge

Day 7 ~ 12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist

Here is my tag for Ellen Hutson's "the classroom"
Day 7 is hosted by Julia Stainton....
Another gorgeous tag and great techniques!!

I love how my "girlie" tag turned out!!

I used my tim Holtz Rosette snowflake die...
cut the word "frosty" on my circut and coated it with some super fine glitter...
if you go to "the classroom" you can read about all the techniques used there..
the background on the tag I used a TH distressed paint dauber "Worn Lipstick"
perfect for a tag with a feminine twist, don't you think??

Now I'm working on tag 8.......and a few other goodies.....

I used an Impression Obsession cloud background stamp for mine, stamped in gray
the dies used are from Memory Box...love that birch tree!!

Day 4 ~ 12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist

Day 4 tag  for the challenge Ellen Hutson has at the classroom
was hosted by Jennifer McGuire...
I have to say  I LOVE this tag....
it was so fun to make and in person-up close, it is stunning!!

First I cut my tag with a TH Alterations die  "Tag & Tie"
then applied TH Distress Ink Peacock Feathers all over it
I again cut another tag with a piece of clear acetate (from a saved package)
and stamped it with Memories white ink "Unicorn"
Julie used white Staz On, which I didn't have (yet :>) )
the stamp is a gorgeous new stamp from Stampendous

I stamped an Inkadinkado "Believe stamp" on a scrap piece
the letters are uneven, they are susposed to be..lol
my branch was cut with a Memory box birch tree die
Julie used TH mirrored paper,
but I had a piece of a somewhat thick silver mirrored cardstock
the bird was cut with a TH Alterations die "caged bird" and colored with Copics
the clear tag is popped up off the second tag.....
all instructions for the techniques are on the classroom blog....

Now onto tag five.....scroll on down and you can see my other 3 tags...so far!!

Also entering this in the challenge at Joan's Gardens "tags"

Day 3 ~ 12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist

This is my tag for day 3 at Ellen Hutson's "the classroom"
Day 3 was hosted by Julie Ebersole...a cute Teal & Red tag with a shaker...

I had just purchased a Christmas set of Reflections stamps at Michaels
and it had these little mittens in the set....
I stamped them with my newest white Memories Ink "Unicorn" which I got from Ellen
on my last order (after seeing it used on her blog "the classroom")
Julies shaker was made with a cute little vellum envelope....
I made mine with a tiny (cut down) jewelry ziploc bag and some free confetti I got somewhere...
the words inside my shaker are cut from some Melissa Frances paper...

Now I have to add, I shouldn't be putting any time into my blog at all
as I have a Christmas exchange to go to on Friday.....
I am taking the main dish..
I need 12 gifts each for 4 people...thats 48 in all...yikes...
and I haven't gotten all the shopping done (about half)...
and I have NONE wrapped, and of course I have to make all my own tags...
and 4 of the gifts are handmade, which are not even in progress...
will I get it done...oh yes..will I make all 12 tags for the challenges...oh yes...
am I  crazy...you betcha!!!

Todays tag at the classroom was done by Claudine Hellmuth.....
I had fun with this one as I got to use for the first time my Claudine Hellmuth
Studio paint "yellow pastel"....
this paint dries so quickly that you just keep on going.....
I stamped my reindeer with TH Distress Ink Peacock Feathers...
seemsI have been using this color alot!
I also used some washi tape All Is Bright...so pretty...
I added a tiny pompom trim and a bit of lace at the bottom...
the "snow" around the deer is a Viva Pearl pen "cream"....
I am in the market for more of these pens...I LOVE them.....

12 Tags of Christmas~Tag 1

This year Tim Holtz isn't doing his 12 tags of Christmas...
but Ellen Hutson has continued with her12 Tags of Christmas With a Feminine Twist
in "the classroom" so let the fun begin!!

This is my take on the tag created over at Ellen's by Sharon Harnist Tag 1...
I had to get really creative and spent a bunch of time on this....
I used a Prima Easter stamp for my girl.....she is actually wearing bunny slippers
and carring a basket of eggs.....
I covered the eggs to look like ornaments....oh and speaking of ornaments
Sharon had a cool way to do the embossed background...
I used an ornament embossing folder...though I seem to have covered it up...lol..
her wings are actually a glittered holly chipboard I turned into wings....
the little poinsettias are a Marianne Designs die....
I inked them and now think I have the pinkest fingers in town!!
you might want to  go and visit the classroom...
follow the rules (not just any tag can be entered)
as Ellen is giving away a $150 shopping spree...
wouldn't I LOVE to win that...wow!!

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Joan's Gardens....tags~Tags~tags

The Ribbon Girl.....a Christmas project
