Friends

So Glad we're friends is the sentiment on this card,
and a rather large card it is, 5 1/4 x 6 1/4.
I made this card using Tutti Designs Flower Cart die.

I filled the cart with flowers,
added a tiny butterfly and a gem on the wheel.
Under the cart is a piece of beautiful 'lace' designer paper.
I cut the paper so I could stamp (white ink)the sentiment in the corner
and added a cute trim to that!

I still felt the card needed something,
so a die cut cat and another butterfly were added.
Do you suppose the kitty caught that butterfly?
He sure is giving it the 'eyeball'!!

Drapery Fold Card

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.
Go and check it out to see how easy this
'Drapery Fold' card is to create!

Hi, Diane With you today with a fun drapery fold card
that I 'tweaked' a bit to add a bit of glittery goodness!

To make the drapery fold,
you will need a piece of designer paper cut to 4" x 11 1/2".
With the 11" piece across the top score at
3" ~ 4" ~ 6" ~ 7" ~ 9" ~ 10"

With the paper still on your cutter, on the right side (10" score side)
make a mark down about 1".

Line your 1" mark up with your cut line and move the paper
to the 3" score, keeping the 1" mark still in the cut line and cut on a diagonal.

Next fold your scores, mountain, valley, mountain valley etc.
Use a bone folder to get good creases.

To add my 'tweak' I used pieces of  1 1/2" Tear-fic Tape on each fold,
peeled the paper off and added Sterling Glitter to each...so pretty!

Once that was done I adhered it down with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to a white card stock.

The card itself (gray) is a regular A2 size.

I added a strip of 1/2" Tear-ific Tape across the top,
then once again the Sterling glitter.
This is a fabulous glitter for the holidays!
I tied a twine bow and glued on a snowflake button to the center.

Using the sentiment from the Crystal Snow Flake set,
I stamped with Versamark directly onto the white card stock,
then embossed with Silver Detail embossing powder.

The large snowflake is from the Crystal Snow Flake set was stamped
with Versamark, then embossed with Flashy Flamingo embossing powder.
I fussy cut the snowflake out, which was very easy
and added it to the card front.
Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops Silver Moondust was carefully
added to the center of the snowflake.

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial and will try one of these yourself.
Thank you for visiting with me today.

To You From Me

Yesterdays card was a small square card,
today's card is making up for it as it is quite larger,
approx 5" x 6 1/4"

Besides the new die for this card, I used some really, really OLD stash!

One of the 'oldies' is the white linen paper I used to feature
my Tutti Designs Butterfly Vine Border.
I used a stitched border die (turned it on it's side),
then a scrap (snippet) of dotted paper to go with.

A couple of the other 'oldies are the SU sentiment from the
Best Yet stamp set, not sure of the age, but it retired in '09'!
The little gem strips on the butterfly are from an Easter Egg deco
kit from SU purchased eons ago and of course never used as intended!

I die cut a few 'free' butterflies to finish!

Stars and a Sweet Cupcake

Cute little sweet cupcake card with it's dangling 'stars'....
all full of sparkle and shine!

This little  4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card is sure to make a happy birthday for 'someone'!

It is all one die by Tutti Designs 'Cupcake'.
The size of the card gives you an idea of the size of the die.

I cut it out first from a glitter paper,
then cut just the cherry from a red glitter paper
and cut just the cupcake wrapper from a metallic paper
and paper pieced it together....
a red bow using RRR was added to finish!

On another note, if interested Joanns online has
the Tim Holtz Oxide inks on sale for 40% off,
making them about $3.59,
they have 11 of the first 12 colors and with a special
code $4.99 shipping.
I told myself I was NOT going to add anymore inks
to my already mountain of them I have,
but how could I resist at that price and
how could I resist when I am seeing them used beautifully
all over blogland!!!

Peaceful Scene

We have a new challenge at
and it is being hosted by our very talented Terri.
She has chosen the theme 'Boys to Men'
meaning you can make any masculine card for a boy to a man.

In trying to use what I have,
I came across this already stamped card face
I made while my friend and fellow DT member Dar
was visiting me last summer and brought her
Stampscape stamps for me to play with.
She is much more talented at it then I am,
but I am happy the way this one turned out for the most part.

This was one of the card fronts I did.
There are five different stamps used to make this card
and a few TH Distress inks...so pretty
I haven't bought any of these stamps yet, but certainly will
down the road!

Visit The Sisterhood to see all the other
fabulous designs from my 'sistah's

Happy Retirement

I am home again, this time for two weeks before I leave once again!
Our quick 4 day vacation did not go as planned
as my son had an emergency back home and had to immediately return.
I won't go into the details, but it wasn't pleasant.
I sometimes wonder if all this turmoil in our family will ever end!

I also wanted to mention that after great thought,
I resigned from the Fussy and Fancy design team.
I have been a DT member since Nov. 2014.
I will miss the team but I just need to start spending more family time
and more time to focus on my home and gardens.

I also wanted to mention that Sparkle N Sprinkle have the new
TH Stamp Platforms in stock (hurry though)
mine came in the mail while I was gone and I am super excited to use it!
Here is the link if interested:

My today's card is a pretty simple retirement one,
perfect for a man that likes his toys!

I used a SU paper for my background that I have had for quite sometime!
I love that it has my state of Michigan on it!

I layered a couple of Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Banners
and Tutti Designs Motorcycle die.
That's it!!
CAS and easy to mail!!

Let It Snow

This is my card on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.
Go and check it out and see how this card was created!

One of the newly released stamp sets for July is
Now I don;t know about you,
but I love, love to work with silly characters like these guys,
they just have to make you 'happy'!

I first die cut a square using a Tutti Designs Nested Stitched Square die.
I stamped the image in the center, then colored with my Copics.
I added Pink Spirit Sparkle N Soft Flocking to each flamingo
by first applying Dimensional Glue to each bird.
This glue gives a bit of a 3D effect once it dries.

First applying a tiny bit of glue to each hat pompom,
I then added Sparkling Snow glitter.

I once again used the Dimensional Glue to the snow at the bottom,
then the Sparkling Snow glitter.

For the finishing touch, google eyes were added to each bird
(sorry I couldn't help myself..lol)!

I set this aside to dry and next cut a Palm Tree die from Frantic Stamper.
The base was colored with Copics and Sakura Glue Pen was added to the fronds,
then Margarita glitter.

I die cut a Let It Snow word from Tonic,
using the Nuvo Large Glue Pen, I coated the die cut with glue,
then adding the Sparkling Snow glitter to it.

The card base is a small 'step' card.
The measurements to cut your card stock are
4 1/4" x 11" and a base panel 4 1/4" x 5 1/8".
Score the larger piece with the 11" piece along the top at
1 1/4' ~ 2 1/2" ~ 4 1/4" ~ 6" ~ 8 1/4"
Fold mountain, valley and repeat.
Use a bone folder to get good creases.

I added 1 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to each of the smaller folds,
just trim off the excess.
Sparkling Snow and Margarita glitters were added to each of those panels (as shown).

The back panel piece I added a piece of 1 1/2" Tear-ific Tape
on the 4 1/4" sides (top and bottom)
and a small piece of 1/2" Tear-ific Tape on each 5 1/8" side.
These were then sprinkled with Sparkle N Soft Pink Spirit Flocking.
I thought it would give it a fun/whimsical look!

I put all the pieces together as shown and lastly added a small
Spellbinders label die cut for a place to leave a message or sign a name.

This is the cutest and fun little step card,
I hope you will give it a try!

Fun With Silhouettes

It's that time again when all the design team members
get together to showcase all our creativeness in one place at
The Cutting Cafe blog, so mark your calendars for the 21st!!
Our assignment this time was to use the cut file
always so FUN to see all the different takes on this!
Plus, just by leaving a comment on TCC blog
you could win 3 cut files of your own!!

This cut file contains lots and I mean LOTS of different images to choose from.
My plan was to make 2 or 3 cards, but since I am gone again for 4 days
it just didn't pan out ...sigh!

I did make  this quick card using the cutest lady bug image....
look at those long legs!

While digging in my 'red' bag of scrap for the die cut hearts,
I came across this pretty red and yellow scrap of paper
(gosh, I loved the reverse side, too)!

After printing my lady bug silhouette,
I die cut it with a Spellbinders die,
added a tiny heart to him (or her as the case may be)
and a bouquet of hearts.
I had the tiniest snippet of black gingham ribbon left,
so I added a bow!
Like I said, pretty simple, but yet so darn cute!

Black and White With a Pop of Color

New challenge is starting today at Double D Challenges
and being hosted by Team Darlene
with the theme of
Black and White with a Pop of Color
and using the wonderful inspiration board below!

One of the things I am trying very hard to do this year
is to use some of my things from my stash,
like for instance this cute, cute cat digital I won from Bugaboo.

I just colored in a few 'pink' places, added a bit of Stardust gelly roll pen
for a bit of oomph and added
Nuvo Glitter Drops Pink Champagne to the flower center.

Then used an Impression Obsession 6 in1 rectangle frame die
to cut the black and white frames.
The black frames are recycled from a shiny packaging I had saved.
The papers underneath are from my scrap bags.

I computer generated a sentiment...I just love how it turned out
and it wasn;t until I was writing this up I realized I had
'kind of' used one of the photos for inspiration...lol

So make sure and join in with us at the Double D
and pop on over to see all the absolutely wonderful creations by
the Double D girls, they are the best!

Happy Birthday

Today I have a pretty easy card to mail
made of strictly die cuts!
Sometimes I like these easy cards that can be quickly popped in the mail!

I also like it when a die cut can make such a statement as this one dies.
I didn't think it need much more then a pretty background to shoe it off!
Look at those cute little hearts  hanging from the tree..love!

Dies used for this are Tutti Designs Word sets Happy and Birthday,

Hugs

Time for a new challenge at Dies R Us.
The theme is Die Cut Sentiment.

Sometimes you just need a little hug.
That is what my card is all about today.

It is bright and cheerful and I kept it rather simple
and flat to mail so I can easily pop it in the mail when needed!

I used a very bright yellow for the card base,
different from my usual white!

I die cut a rectangle from Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangle,
which I embossed butterflies on.

The HUGS is a Tutti Designs Swirly Hugs die.
I added a few gray gems here and there.

Make sure an visit the Dies R Us challenge blog to see
even more creative ideas using a sentiment as a focal point!

Here is MY card I created for the release!

I chose to feature the new stamp set
'Crystal Snow Flake'.
I just can't seem to resist a snowflake stamp as they are all so different!

As always, I used the Anti Static bag on my card stock,
helping to eliminate any stray EB powder sticking to the paper
where I didn't want it (finger prints can cause this
and the bag ensures this doesn't happen).
I started out by stamping the one of the largest snowflake stamps,
and two of the smaller snowflake stamps with Versamark,
then embossing all with White embossing powder.

Here it is before embossing, and

after embossing.

Next I used TH Distress inks and sponged on
starting first with Spun Sugar, then with Worn Lipstick.
After applying the ink, simply wipe off your snowflakes
with a soft tissue.....an emboss resist technique.

Once I was happy with my ink sponging,
I once again used Versamark and stamped the sentiment,
this time embossing with Black Detail embossing powder.

I added ribbon and a bow to the front card base,
then using twine, I tied a sterling silver snowflake to the bow.
I used 1/2" Tear-ific Tape to add my finished panel to
white card stock and then the pink card base.

I am last on the list, but you should of started with the very talented ERET!
Makes sure and visit ALL the blogs leaving a comment on each for
